Your first session
Run a roleplay end to end in about ten minutes.
1. Choose a character
Open the Patient tab and pick a character. For your first session, choose one described as straightforward rather than complex — see Choosing a character.
2. Choose a competence scale
The scale decides what your feedback is measured against.
- PWP trainees — we recommend the UCL PWP Assessment / Treatment Competence Scale.
- Other CBT courses — we recommend CTS-R.
3. Start the roleplay
Start a new session. You can speak using a voice call or type your responses, and switch between the two at any point. Use hints and tips whenever you are unsure what to try next.
4. Get a rating
Open the Competences tab and use the Star or Rating button. You can do this at any point during a session, not only at the end.
5. Review and repeat
Short, frequent sessions build skill as effectively as full-length ones. Come back to the same character with a different technique and compare.
